• Alvin Johns, CMA, obtained his certification from the Ontario Society of Management Accountants of Ontario in 1979. Alvin decided to expand his accounting education, knowledge and discipline from the finance back rooms to the business operational environment through the implementation of ERP systems. The ERP approach employed under Alvin’s direction was to define business process policies and procedures while ensuring companies comply with the accounting standards – IFRS for European clients – Canadian and US GAAP for his North American clients.
• His ERP experience brings a unique blend of qualities that suits him well for the IFRS conversion. In many situations large corporations require detailed and complex project management skills to keep projects on time and on budget. His knowledge of current technology and reporting tools were employed to provide financial information to support GAAP reporting and to produce key performance indicators. A client’s distinctive requirements allowed opportunities to get involved with all the functional areas and apply change-management to improve their operational effectiveness while implementing new software.
• During Alvin’s career in Finance, he was a Group Controller for the worldwide operation of a Canadian High Tech Company before starting up his own Consulting Company. In 1998, with over 50 successful ERP implementations, his company was acquired by an International Software Company – Ross Systems Inc. After joining Ross Systems ‘, Alvin continued to expand their footprint in North America by leading the NA Services team to double-digit sales increase each year.
• Alvin obtained his IFRS certification from ICAEW in 2009. In addition to his professional accolades, Alvin is an avid hiker and enjoys international traveling.

Adane Kassaye

Eddy is a principal and founder of Kassys Consulting Group and a Partner with SunPoint Management. Eddy’s main focus is on implementing ERP suite of applications with expert project management skills. He has successfully managed and delivered on several projects, including international projects for clients with global operations.

Eddy has over 15 years of experience in IT/ERP Software industries. Prior to 1999, Eddy worked with Databases and Financial software for over 5 years, and had a leading role on several global and multi-National projects. Eddy is the perfect and rare consultant who employs a combination of technical know-how, in-depth functional knowledge and project management skills in an assignment. Eddy technical skills include development requirement analysis and definition, system integration and application programming.

Eddy graduated from Addis Ababa University with a BA in Accounting and BSC in systems design and analysis.

During the past 15 years working as a lead in ERP implementation, Eddy has gain the experience in:

• Directing controlling and implementing the Ross IC, GL, AP, AR, POP, SOP, MM, PM, APS and supply chain modules with multiple clients, multiple industries, and multiple geographical locations.
• Managing full lifecycle software enhancement and development projects
• Conducting needs assessment, documenting specs, evaluating and following-up on development, testing, validation and final release of application modules.
• Managing development of training curriculum for clients.
• Analyzing customer RFP (Request for Proposals) to define business requirements, project scoping and defining work plans and customizing functional solutions.
• Coordinating/preparing IT development/implementation/support project proposals (defining solution architecture, resourcing requirement, costing estimates, business presentation and negotiation)
• Establishing and leading new software development and enhancement projects including controls on resource allocation, utilization, coordination of effort and full project leadership on multiple engagements
• Managing and coaching staff and consulting teams as an advisor
